Oil Painting Mediums

CAUTION
All of the oil painting mediums listed below are flammable. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Avoid inhalation.

LIQUIN
The most popular liquid medium, which will improve the flow of oil colours for smooth brush work, subtle blending or fine detail. It also increases translucency making it ideal for thin glazing. Can speed up drying time.
Mixes easily with a brush and flows readily. Liquin is a flamable, thixotropic, translucent gel which quickly dries to a virtually non-yellowing film.

W & N Liquin: 75ml $13.20 250ml $29.95

WINGEL
A flammable, clear gel which produces a soft paste when mixed with Oil colours and is therefore ideal for expressive brush work.
When worked with a palette knife, Wingel becomes a free flowing liquid substance for building up layers of glaze, for painting long fine lines (with a touch of white spirit on the brush tip) or for moderate impasto.
Mix with colour in the ratio of one part colour to two parts Wingel and leave undisturbed for a short period before use. Keep brush work to a minimum when applying to avoid buildup. Drys to a virtually non-yellowing, crack resistant finish.

W & N Wingel: 37ml $14.60 60ml $23.50

OLEOPASTO
A flammable, stiff translucent gel specifically for impasto and texture work. It dries to a crack-resistant and virtually non-yellowing film when mixed with a knife (do not use a brush or the bristles will clog) it retains knife and brush strokes and will not level out. Oleopasto can be used as an extender to make Oil Colours go further. In this way, thick layers of colour can be built up, whilst using only minimal amounts of expensive pigments. When used generously with translucent colours, Oleopasto produces an 'inner light' effect - giving the painting a luminous quality.

Oleopasto: 60ml $23.95

PAINTING MEDIUM
A pale yellow thinning medium which improves flow and wetting, thereby facilitating fine detail work. Dries to a flexible film, with minimal tendency to flex, wrinkle or crack.

W &N Artists Painting Med: 75ml $15.60
