ARTIST BIO

Nicki Gilmore's paintings are studies of an untamed, isolated wilderness: water and its fluid properties of movement and distortion. With changes of atmosphere and light, these images evolve on the canvas bringing the viewer closer to nature.

Nicki completed a Bachelor of Visual Arts at the Dunedin School of Art.  She has an artist studio in Dowling Street Project Space and shares her time between the beaches and harbour of Dunedin and the stunning Purakaunui Inlet, both of which are rich sources of inspiration for her.
